Garden State Growers is a family-owned greenhouse and outdoor production operation on over 500 acres specializing in the growth and distribution of wholesale perennials, annuals, ground cover, vegetables, and varied seasonal offerings. We serve large retailers who sell plants in sizable quantities, as well as garden centers, supermarkets and small retail businesses.

We are currently seeking an Inventory Manager. This individual will be responsible to manage the companies inventory through various processes. Must work closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of inventory counts, proper transfer of inventory, and product inconsistencies(link removed)> This candidate will be overseeing the Inventory Counters so this candidate must possess strong leadership and organization skills.

Primary responsibilities may include but not limited to accurately and timely adjustments of all ready dates, locations and inventory totals in Plant Partner ERP. Track and record the movement of crops and record losses. Assign orders to areas for the picking team, prepare all paperwork for picking manager, monitor and process any paperwork for additions to the pick & ensure changes (substitutions) are processed correctly. Work closely with sales team to ensure communication between sales, growing, inventory, shipping, satellite facilities and picking teams is clear and effective. Pull materials as work orders are completed and report any inconsistencies to the hardgoods manager for correction. Direct the daily work of the Inventory team for all facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Make sure all inventory ready dates are correct to ensure an accurate availability.
  • Make all necessary changes in Plant Partner.
  • Assign orders to areas for picking in the system.
  • Prepare all paperwork for picking manager.
  • Monitor and process any paperwork for additions to the pick.
  • Keep physical inventory accurate and report any shortages to production team.
  • Ensure changes (substitutions) are processed correctly.
  • Track and record all crop movement and record any loses in the system from start to finish.
  • Work closely with sales team and ensure total transparency in communication between sales, growing, inventory, shipping, satellite facilities and picking teams.
  • Work closely with the production and growing teams.
  • Pull materials as work orders are completed and report any inconsistencies to the hardgoods manager for correction.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Perform other tasks assigned.

Requirements

    • Strong computer skills and adaptability is a requirement
    • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
    • Bi-lingual a plus.
    • Past experience with greenhouse work or perishables a plus.
    • Team player with ability to work in fast paced environment.
    • Flexible with regards to schedule, critical in peak season.
    • Comfortable walking long distances.
