About the Role: The Global Microbial Library Manager will be responsible for the management, organization, and strategic development of our microbial library assets, ensuring their availability and quality to support our research initiatives worldwide. This role will encompass a combination of hands-on management of a microbial library, providing deep microbial expertise and strategic planning. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a strategic plan for Loams global microbial library, aligning it with the company's research goals and scientific advancements.
- Assure accurate cataloguing of cultures into Loams collection database.
- Oversee the acquisition, storage, preservation, and maintenance of microbial cultures and samples in the library.
- Author, witness and maintain meticulous records of experimental protocols and methods within Loams ELN.
- Collaborate with research teams to understand their microbial resource needs and incorporate them into the library strategy.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for microbial assets, ensuring the preservation of genetic integrity and viability.
- Regularly assess the condition of microbial cultures and implement measures for quality improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant permits, regulations and guidelines governing the handling, storage and shipment of Loams microbial assets.
- Foster collaborations and partnerships with Loams global laboratories to enhance the library's microbial diversity and resources.
- Maintain detailed records of all microbial assets, transactions, and library activities.
- Prepare regular reports and updates on library status and performance for senior management.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in microbial culture collection management.
Requirements - Ph.D. in Mycology, Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Biotechnology, Molecular biology/ecology, or related scientific fields `
- Experience in microbial library/culture collection management.
- Expert level of knowledge of microbiological techniques, sample handling, and preservation.
- Proven experience in developing and executing global library strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Advanced organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to evolving scientific research needs and technologies.
- Meticulous aseptic technique and strong attention to detail
