Duties

Duties included, but not limited to:

• The Medical Procedures Unit RN MPU provides service to GI, Cardiology, Pulmonary and Surgery for Endoscopy Procedures, including the following: Transesophageal Echocardiogram with Cardioversion, Interventional Radiology, GI & Pulmonary Endoscopy.
• Provides pre & post op care to patients undergoing Interventional Radiology.
• Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care based on age-specific components.
• Responsible for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction.
• Consider all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences.
• Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
• Make assignments and directs activities of other unit staff, (RNs, LPNs, students, PSAs, other team members).Independently plan and deliver technically competent care to patients with complex needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
