JOB DESCRIPTION:
Completes a broad variety of tasks in support of a Regional Underwriting Team (either Core Middle Market or Construction) and on-site administrative support for one or more CNA locations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills with ability to successfully interact across a broad range of individuals including members of Senior Management both internal and external. Expertise in the Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required. Previous insurance or financial services industry experience is desirable.
Regional leadership support activities including: travel, calendar management, T&E, communications; on-site activities such as facilities and real estate point person, fleet car coordinator, supply management; and other responsibilities including regional support for distribution & agency activities that will be centralized and performed by NEW Distribution Operations Analyst positions on the Marketing, Strategy & Innovation team (below).
This hybrid role will be based in any West Region Office (Arizona, Denver, LA, New Mexico, Orange County, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco or Seattle).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Regional Underwriting Manager (RUM)/Senior Leader support:
Schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, travel arrangements
Processes T&E expenses
Manages calendar
Manages e-mail (some leaders give e-mail access; others do not)
Drafts, prepares and distributes correspondence, memos, reports, etc.
Assist with PowerPoint deck development as needed
May attend team meetings, etc. and record notes and provide information as needed
For RUM: maintains sales calls in SalesForce
Office Activities
For the assigned location(s)
Maintains local staff contacts and needed distribution lists (Outlook, Teams)
Plans CNA staff events and meetings
Fleet Car Coordinator
- Manage pool cars and report miles
- Coordinate fleet requests
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices/check request as necessary
Facility point person
- Work with Property Management on various items
- Submit Work Orders as necessary
- Work with Corporate Real Estate (i.e. seat assignments, floor plans, RENT projects, etc.)
- Mail US, UPS and Certified
- Verify AED equipment is functioning monthly
Team point person
- Order office supplies as needed
- Order promotion items as needed
- Lead or assist with local CSR activities
- Coordinate local teambuilding activities
Other Duties
Broker Meeting Activities (in person sales calls)
- Run scorecard, pipeline, merlin reports (support for RUM) standard requirements for a meeting (future)
- Assist with catering meetings and coordinate with Admin on Agent side
- Coordinate special events i.e. golf outing
Regional coordination point for Distribution and Agency Maintenance activities
Support information regarding supplemental compensation strategies in partnership with Channel Solutions function.
Assist with onboarding of new hires for assigned groups
Special projects
May back up other Administrative Assistants, and may provide administrative support to other functional areas
Complete other administrative tasks as needed

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners and staff at all levels.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business-related software systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills including ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, as well as anticipate business needs.
- Overall general knowledge of the insurance industry and the business units. 6. Strong analytic skills.
- Ability to independently navigate the complexities of a matrix organization.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information while exercising professionalism and discretion.
Education & Experience
- College with course work in Marketing, Business, Accounting, etc. is desirable.
- Typically a minimum of four years strong administrative experience with insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $37,000 to $64,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
