The opportunity - Full-time , remote

As a GPS Labor Accountant Associate, youll support day-to-day GPS labor accounting for EYs GPS practice. Youll process labor records and ensure adherence to policies, applicable law and regulations, procedures, and internal controls.

The Labor Accountant will report to the GPS Time & Labor lead.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Review weekly timesheets for accuracy in preparation for processing
  • Process timesheets in the Time & Expense v.10
  • Assignment of seat license in Deltek T&E and maintaining of backup supervisors
  • Work with employees to resolve issues related to their timesheet records, including timesheet corrections and login issues in a timely and courteous manner
  • Escalate complex timesheet issues to Sr Associate
  • Generate reliable timekeeping reports & metrics for management
  • Support management with audit requests (accounting system and/or contract specific) and corrective action plans, as needed
  • Interface with other GPS enablement teams as necessary including Talent, Contracts Management, Subcontracts Management, Finance and Compliance
  • Ensure overtime process works as designed and timesheet records reflect project(s) supported by the individual
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with management to develop tools and templates that facilitate process improvements
  • Participate in other accounting projects as directed by management
  • Ensure timesheets have proper projects, accounts, and organizations combinations in accordance with GPS financial architecture
  • Work with Time & Labor team on developing and maintaining Time and Labor procedure manuals, desktop guides and end user trainings
  • Manage automated processes (Daily Floor Check and Timesheet Status)
  • Assist in testing of Deltek Time Collection in Costpoint version 8.1 and future modules, as implemented within EY
  • Understand and apply knowledge of employee classes, pay types, leave projects, indirect/direct projects, project costing and overtime process

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and US Government interpretations of them related to timekeeping and labor distribution
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
  • Ability to write to communicate in various formats (e.g. job aids/desktop guides, emails)
  • Ability to work with a diverse and geographically distributed team
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with the highest degree of discretion
  • Ability to work after hours and/or weekends to meet Firm deadlines
  • Ability to handle changing priorities
  • Ability to produce error-free work

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree OR equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting / finance experience in a government contracting environment
  • 2+ years of experience with Deltek Costpoint Time & Expense Module, version 10
  • Experience with US Government floor checks
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Ability to work after hours and/or weekends to meet Firm deadlines
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance if needed

Ideally, you will also have

  • Experience writing job aids, desktop guides, and trainings

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $50,000 to $88,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $60,000 to $100,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, youll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
