What We Can Achieve Together

The Marketing and Communications Manager will help implement a strategic communications plan, assist in producing a variety of communications materials, develop and execute content for digital channels, liaise with local and global internal stakeholders and external vendors, and help meet the Connecticut Chapter's marketing needs.

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for helping meet the Connecticut team's marketing and communications needs, with a portfolio that includes materials development, digital content development, vendor and project management, event assistance, and paid media campaigns. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Director, they help research, write, and distribute a wide variety of communication materials including but not limited to social media posts, web articles, fact sheets and FAQs, videos, op-eds, news releases, messaging, and webinars as directed in program marketing plans. They will work on events and executive visibility as needed. They will develop relationships with global TNC teams as well as internal and external partners, manage projects for the Communications team, and conduct research. The Marketing and Communications Manager will have the opportunity to learn on the job, developing new skills and competencies in a variety of areas.

As The Marketing And Communications Manager, You Will

  • Manages and implements communications projects, while authentically incorporating Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEI&J), to raise our visibility in key markets as appropriate: Producing webinars or managing outside events; overseeing social media content and coordinating content for and production of our monthly e-newsletter as well as videos.
  • Collaborates closely with marketing team members to ensure projects are aligned with internal editorial content strategy as well as conservation goals and objectives.
  • Responsibility and accountability for meeting assigned project goals and objectives.
  • Serves as team lead on assigned initiatives, which may include responding to inquiries, project management, vendor relationships, and developing materials as needed.
  • Resolves issues independently within program area.
  • Opportunity to act independently within program goals.
  • Collaborates with staff and marketing team to manage reputational risk issues-including drafting talking points, holding statements and other communications materials as necessary.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have all or some of the following qualifications. If you don't have all of them, apply anyway and tell us about your skills and experience:

  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
  • Experience authentically incorporating Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEI&J) into marketing and communications.
  • Development and donor communications experience.
  • Experience implementing and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.
  • Familiarity in executing paid media.
  • Familiarity with design and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience managing multiple professional social media accounts.
  • Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in social media and storytelling.
  • Experience in storytelling and managing multiple professional social media accounts.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
  • Experience writing, editing, and proofreading.

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $50,000 - 81,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
