Under the direction of the Department Administrator, provides supervision and direction and training to a team of Therapists and Intake department team. Provides suggestions and recommendations to the Department Administrator as to the hiring, advancement, and progressive discipline of therapists and intake staff on the intake team. Maintains a caseload with the same responsibilities as clinical therapists providing clinical therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults with identified mental health needs, through the provision of individual, family and group therapy to support the physical, emotional and mental well-being of clients. Pay range for this position is $65,700-$78,120 per year, depending on years of experience.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engages clients to assess needs and strengths, gathers data to complete psychosocial assessments and mental status exams.
  • Provide psychotherapy using evidence based interventions.
  • Complete case management services to clients that are open to TCM services.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans. Include goals that are specific, measurable, realistic, and time limited.
  • Schedules and sees clients consistently based on clinical need.
  • Continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Completes documentation and billing in an orderly and timely fashion.
  • Prepares and submits prior authorization forms to ensure no break in service or billing.
  • When required, refer clients to outside sources or agencies.
  • Utilizes supervision to increase knowledge of interventions and therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintains case file in a manner prescribed by agency.
  • In collaboration with Department Administrator, manages, directs and coordinates day-to-day activities of therapy and intake staff including preparation of coverage schedules, assignment of staff duties, productivity measures, medical records compliance, contingency plan for emergencies, coordination of vacation and leave requests, hiring and termination of staff, completion of all institutional paperwork, and maintenance of necessary records.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures, quality controls, and maintain relationships with other departments and outside agencies.
  • Develop or expand programs or services for scientific research, preventative medicine, medical and vocational rehabilitation, and community health and welfare.
  • Work cooperatively with various supervisors to balance clinical service delivery needs with fiscal needs.
  • Provides direct supervision and training to therapist, interns and intake staff as indicated.
  • Intervenes and advocates on behalf of clinical staff as needed.
  • Provide therapeutic and crisis supports.
  • Interface with public and private agencies providing services and/or referrals to the Agency. (I.e. referral process, marketing, as indicated, etc.)
  • Provides coordination of services and continuance of care to other providers and community agencies (including administrative, information technology, clinical, and record keeping needs).
  • Assists with compliance with all employment policies and procedures, HIPAA, CFR 42 Part 2 and federal and state regulations in DTP.
  • Represent the agency on appropriate Medicaid/community meetings.
  • Completes any duties and special assignments as requested.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in training of new therapists, interns and intake staff.
  • Supervision of team of intake staff including interns and case managers and CMs adherence to policy and procedure.
  • Compliance monitoring of therapy and case note documentation by therapists, intake staff and case managers.
  • Hold team meetings to review and impart policy and staff client issues. Assists in the development and implementation of department policy and procedure.
  • Participates in monthly team leader meeting facilitated by the clinical administrator and CM program manager.
  • Uses Solutions procedure to mediate client concerns with services provided by therapists and intake staff on the coordinators team.
  • Completes annual evaluation of team intake staff work product.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master of Social Work
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW license current in Nevada
  • Must maintain all required certifications or licensures

QUALIFICATIONS IN ADDITION TO LCSW

  • Five (5) years coordinator experience in a mental health related environment
  • Two (2) years of experience in mental health related therapy
  • Principles, practices and methods in mental health counseling and education.
  • Psychiatric treatment planning methods and psychotherapy programming principles.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with subordinate staff, administrators, clinical staff, and representatives of other agencies, government officials and clients in a variety of situations.
  • Strong management, administrative and leadership skills to oversee and advise treatment teams, delegate assignments, and train, motivate and supervise staff.
  • Federal and State laws, regulations and administrative codes.
  • Knowledge of human resources rules and regulations, and privacy, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance laws.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Access to Healthcare Act and how it shapes the future of healthcare.
  • Knowledge of contract processes and skills in executing contract oversight and compliance.
  • Experience with healthcare in an academic setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working with clients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and or Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications.
  • Awareness on Trauma Informed Care.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • EMR, Advance proficiency in the use of a personal computer and current software application including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and email).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods.
  • May include performing repetitive tasks.
  • May include working on a special schedule (i.e. evenings and weekends with clients).
  • May include working with challenging patients and clients.
  • May include lifting up to 25 pounds.
