- Works under the general supervision of the Kennel Manager, who furnishes general instructions and guidance.
- Incumbent performs daily recurring duties independently.
- Work performance is evaluated in terms of proper and timely accomplishment of assignments and customer satisfaction.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Shifts may include working, morning, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Be physically able to lift and carry heavy items weighing over 70 pounds.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Be able to follow complex written instructions
- Be able to maintain animal care records.

FWS Allowances and Differentials - This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
