Position Summary
Avantax is seeking an Advisory Support Specialist III who will act as a product sales specialist and support Advisors with the Advisory platform. The Advisory Sales Specialist III will develop partnerships with financial advisors, managing a pipeline of cases to drive Advisory net flows. The Advisory Sales Specialist III is responsible for developing and implementing a business plan and sales strategy to ensure the achievement of goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Must maintain expert knowledge of the solutions available through the Avantax IMS Advisory Platform.
  • Proactively engage with advisors by making outbound phone calls to motivate new business and drive Advisory sales.
  • Consult with advisors on new client cases.
  • Maintain sales pipeline and drive cases through to close.
  • Travel Required 10-20%
  • Respond to inbound Product and Sales calls.
  • Embrace continuous learning, including regulations, and guide advisors and internal partners by explaining trends and developments in their areas of expertise.
  • Monitor work to ensure compliance with departmental goals and standards.
  • Support special projects when necessary.
  • Other job duties as defined.
Education & Experience
  • 5-7 years of applicable sales experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a professional role, working with Financial Advisors.
  • FINRA Series 7, 66, or 63/65 combo is required.
  • BS/BA in a business-related field preferred.
  • CFP preferred.
  • Ability to work individually and also within a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to articulate information in a way that advisors understand and adjust the message to the advisor you are supporting.

  • Keying/typing, standing, walking.
  • Sitting for an extended period.
  • Constant mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in an office environment.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during the normal performance of the job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.

Base Salary Range:
$80,000 - $116,000 per year; Variable incentive compensation eligible.
