What You Will Be Doing:
The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a motivated, organized, innovative person to join our team as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 3 (MVCSR 3) for the Partner Services team. We are looking for an applicant who is team oriented, organized, and has great communication and time management skills. Someone who can be relied upon to provide our DMV Partners (including driving schools, dealerships, for-profit business partners, and other local government agencies) prompt, reliable answers to any DMV questions they may have.

This position serves as a liaison between DMV and DMV partners and so its important that they model DMV values to help serve our mission for all Alaskan residents.

Typical work hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 with a one hour lunch. The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located at the DMVs main office located inside the University Center at 3901 Old Seward Hwy. Ste. 101 in Anchorage. They will collaborate daily with other MVCSR 3s and their management team in order to solve problems for Business Partners, Dealerships, Commissioned Agents, and internal DMV customers.

  • Work Independently Demonstrate independence by using strong decision-making skills and solving complex problems. Demonstrate ability to manage time efficiently in order to complete work in a timely manner and meet conflicting deadlines.

Special Note:
  • Valid Alaska Drivers License
  • This position requires the use of Alaska License and Vehicle Information Network (ALVIN) as well as the Alaska Public Safety Information System (APSIN), both of which includes passing a background investigation. Fingerprinting will be conducted.
  • In this position the incumbent may be required to work at either the Anchorage, Eagle River and Palmer office and may require occasional travel to offices outside of these areas.

Minimum Qualifications

Six months of experience performing advanced-level motor vehicle licensing, titling, registration, and compliance functions that included conducting practical skill testing of applicants for non-commercial, motorcycle, or commercial driver licenses. This experience is met by service as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.
OR
One year of experience licensing, titling, and registering motor vehicles, maintaining driver records, collecting motor vehicle registration taxes, and processing license actions required by traffic laws, financial responsibility and mandatory insurance laws, and judicial suspensions or revocations. This experience is met by service as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 1 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.
OR
One year of experience leading or supervising the work of lower level staff responsible for providing significant customer contact in performing responsibilities such as assessing and collecting fees and/or applying statutes, regulations, programmatic requirements or guidelines to review, evaluate, and process applications and/or claims for employment, programs or services, licenses or permits, or benefits.

Substitution:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute on a month-to-month basis (2.67 semester hours or four quarter hours equals one month) for up to half of the required experience.

Special Note:
A background check of criminal justice information will be conducted upon initial employment.

Possession of a valid Alaska non-commercial driver license is required.
