Tara Performing Arts High School is seeking an experienced high school Spanish teacher to be our second Spanish teacher beginning with the 2023 fall semester. Spanish classes occur on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between the hours of 9:00am 1:30pm. The position is 9 hours per week with additional paid planning hours. Teachers are responsible for lesson preparation and presentation, implementation of learning accommodations, student evaluation and written reports, collaboration with the current World Language Department as well as communication with students, parents, faculty, staff and Tara leadership as appropriate. Candidates should have a strong background in Spanish, good pronunciation and grammar, as well as familiarity with the traditions, cultures and literature from Spanish speaking regions. Candidates should also be open to (or well-versed in) an experiential approach to language education. High school teaching experience is preferred, as is familiarity with Waldorf education.
