The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is seeking a Maintenance Specialist - Electrician - Journey 2/Lead to join our team and help us Keep Alaska Moving!


What you will be doing:

Under direction of the Building Maintenance Foreman, you will install, maintain and repair electrical systems and components, analyzes system performance and recommend areas of improvement.

To be successful in the position a candidate will need the following competencies:

Special Note:
  • This position requires a minimum of 8000 hours / 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the electrical trade.
  • This position requires a State of Alaska Certificate of Electrical Fitness. Journeyman card is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Additional Required Information

  • State of Alaska Certificate of Electrical Fitness and Journeyman card


ELECTRICIANS LICENSE REQUIRED

All applicants are required to have an Electricians license with the State of Alaska in order to be hired into the above position. A conditional hire approval can be given for those applicants who are licensed in a state who has entered into a reciprocal agreement with the State of Alaska.

An applicant qualifying under this option may receive a job offer conditional upon successfully obtaining an Electricians license with the State of Alaska within 90 days, and may begin work only AFTER obtaining and showing proof of the license.

AIRPORT SECURITY BADGE
Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) (Download PDF reader) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation, along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
