As a Quality Control Technician in our Process Catalyst business, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF's Vidalia Louisiana manufacturing operations. There will be interactions with operations personnel, such as operators, production leaders, operations engineers, and technology team members. You will provide periodic reports to management and will interact with peers.
During your 12-hour rotating shift, you will...
- Analyze raw materials, in-process and finished products to ensure and document that they meet customer requirements.
- Develop methods for a variety of instruments as well as follow established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies.
- Author and/or update procedures and operate Lab instruments in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintain Lab equipment, ensure adequate Lab supply inventories, conduct instrument calibrations/checks, etc.
- Maintain QA and Production Lab areas "5S" clean, organized and safe.
- Work with SAP QM to manage the Quality Assurance process to fulfill customers' requirements as well as order Lab supplies as needed to maintain desired working inventories.
- Generate ideas that improve the safety, efficiency and/or the overall effectiveness of the continuous improvement program in the laboratory.
- Have 3 years of laboratory experience and a High School Diploma or GED.
- Have relevant experience with basic laboratory instrumentation: titration, ovens, fumehoods, scales, vacuums pumps
- Posses excellent working knowledge of basic chemistry principles (including chemical equations, unit conversions, concept of acid/base), laboratory testing.
- Own basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with SAP software.
- Have the ability to work with a diverse team including lab technicians, chemist, production, and logistics to ensure the best overall result for BASF
- Are self-driven with high degree of initiative and time management skills.
- Are organized, flexible and capable of adapting to priority changes on a regular basis.
