Flag football Referee for New England Muslim League 2024 Season
## Summary:
The New England Muslim League is seeking qualified football referees for the 2024 season, starting on Jan, 2023, and concluding on February 28th 2024. Games will be held on Wednesday nights from 9:00-10:45 PM at the MillWorks, 22 Town Farm Rd, Westford, MA 01886.

## Key Responsibilities:
### Officiating
- Officiate all football games assigned by the New England Muslim League during the 2024 season.
- Enforce league rules and regulations and follow guidelines set forth by any applicable governing bodies.
### Communication
- Notify league officials 7 calendar days prior to the game if unable to officiate.
- In case of emergencies, contact the league immediately to arrange for a substitute.
### Payment and Tax Compliance
- Receive payments via Zelle within 24 hours of each game officiated.
- Responsible for adhering to tax regulations, including completing a 1099 tax form for earnings exceeding $600 in a season.
### Equipment and Supplies
- Responsible for all expenses incurred, including transportation, meals, whistle, and referee shirt.
- Accountable for the game ball during the course of the game and for returning it to the proper parties before leaving the facility.
### Termination and Departure
- Provide a 7-day notice if no longer willing or interested in refereeing for the league.
### Legal and Compliance
- Assume all liability for self-inflicted injuries and waive any claims against the league.
- Agree to maintain confidentiality of all league-related information.

## Compensation:
- $30 to $45 per hour, depending on experience. Payable within 24 hours via Zelle.

## Qualifications:
### Required
- Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
- Prior refereeing experience is a plus.
### Preferred
- Patched referee by the state of MA, NH, or RI.

## Contract Terms:
- Independent contractor (not an employee of New England Muslim League).
- Contract is effective upon signing by both parties and terminates at the conclusion of the final men's flag football game scheduled by the League for the 2024 season.
