Warbird Consulting Partners actively seeks experienced candidates for the role of Vice President of Human Resources for a health system in the Southeast. This organization has been dedicated to healing, inspiring, and transforming the health of their community since 1946. The system has multiple hospital facilities (combined 470 beds), outpatient surgery locations and diagnostic centers, more than 100 Physician Clinics, and post-acute services including skilled nursing.  When you join this team, you join more than 5,000 individuals committed to exceptional care. Position Type: Interim, Interim to Full-time, or Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.  Benefits and relocation assistance available.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Human Resources (HR) will provide executive-level leadership and guidance to the organizations HR operations in support of delivering the highest quality patient care. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. This person will also address HR issues that are unique to the health care industry, such as the work environment, training & development, compliance and compensation.


  •   Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
  •   Identifies key performance indicators for the organizations human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organizations success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
  •   Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
  •   Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
  •   Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  •   Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
  •   Drafts and implements the organizations staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department.
  •   Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  •   Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS


  •   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other fields of study. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  •   HR Certification preferred but not required.
  •   Minimum of five years’ experience leading HR teams, preferably in a health system environment.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES   


  •   Working knowledge of state and federal labor regulations.
  •   Strong ability to manage relationships and engage a wide range of stakeholders including advisory groups, coalitions, forums, trade associations, and practitioner groups.
  •   Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  •   Ability to handle a variety of constituencies and manage multiple tasks, simultaneously, and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities.
  •   Demonstrated and proven critical thinking skills.
  •   Strong analytics and decision-making skills.
  •   Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience building organizational programs.
  •   Excellent written and oral communication skills to promote understanding and foster collaboration among leaders, employees and other stakeholders.
  •   Strong presentation skills and ability to interact with all levels of leadership.
  •   Must be customer service oriented, projecting professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity.
  •   Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  •   Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
