JOB DESCRIPTION —
CNC MACHINIST – CNC LATHE (large Hyundai)

REPORTS TO: MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR – MACHINE SHOP

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Be fully knowledgeable of workholding techniques of turning work utilizing a horizontal CNC turning machine including boring, drilling, tapping, threading and polishing.
 Be familiar with different alloy materials and the tooling, speeds and feeds required for machining the different alloys.
 Possess the math skills to calculate angles, diameters and any other equations required to accomplish close tolerance machining tasks.
 Be able to perform offsets and minor program revisions as required.
 Be able to read and understand complex blueprints and written work orders that accompany every job.
 Be able to fill out daily time slips accurately for labor reporting purposes.
 Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
 Do routine oiling and/or lubrication as instructed by supervisor / maintenance.
 Responsible for machining parts within the routed time frame, or notifying the supervisor if the workorder time and/or sequence of operation on the workorder is incorrect.
 Have own tools that accommodate set-up, deburring, tool changing and measuring for all phases of operation.
 On occasion other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
 Be proficient in the use of over head cranes.
