A day in the life.

As our
Claims Consultant
, youll:
Be a claims advocate for clients; take claim calls, complete site visit as necessary for severe losses and promptly submit to carrier.
Analyze, prioritize and interpret information drawing accurate conclusions with minimal guidelines; review and analyze policy(ies) to ensure any and all coverage that is applicable is triggered in the event of a loss.
See claims issues through to resolution while effectively communicating with client and internal team members on the status of the claim.
Proficiently maintain agency management system data for accuracy.
Be a claims go to in the marketplace; actively be present in the agency and the community with a focus on sharing claims knowledge and the impact of claims to a risk management program.
In-depth knowledge of workers compensation laws, regulations, and industry practices.
Continue to drive for further education and knowledge; stay ahead of trends within coverage issues and claims technical skills.
Provide coverage and claims strategy advice to clients and internal team members.
Educate team members and clients through intentional training and education platforms on claims, handling of claims and claims case studies.
Monitor trending within claims activity; communicate effectively with agency teams for awareness of any coverage issues or pending carrier issues.
Remit claims related data such as loss statistics, key trends, cost reduction opportunities and other data in order to assist development of action plans to manage client's total cost of risk.
Provide recommendations to the internal marketing, sales & service teams regarding trending coverage issues in a way to mitigate and further engage our clients in understanding the coverage available to enhance their risk management portfolio.
Build strong carrier relationships with adjustors and other claims team members in an effort to form a partnership that supports both client needs and carrier objectives.
Communicate effectively with carriers as issues arise and work toward resolving issues efficiently.
Drive and support agency and departmental goals for retention, upsell and new sales.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness improvements within department and agency.
Demonstrate the Code of Conduct for the agency. Be a participant in maintaining a strong work environment and culture for team members.

Knowledge of Workers' Compensation Laws: A strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations is essential. This includes knowledge of state-specific laws, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that instills good working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Computer proficiency with system of records, web-based tools, and Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel and Word).
Establishes priorities and organizes time efficiently to ensure meeting or exceeding deadlines.
