Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, this individual provides project management, operational, and general support to MMA Southwests regional Marketing & Communications (MarComm) team with the goal of increasing brand awareness and consistency, encouraging client, prospect and colleague engagement, as well as supporting regional and MarComm initiatives.
A successful candidate will be an outgoing, creative, detail-oriented individual with high personal standards, a hands-on work style, and advanced problem solving skills. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working at a varying pace, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, adjusting priorities often, and managing frequent interruptions. This individual is eager to learn and dive into a variety of marketing and communications projects that support internal, external, regional, and national initiatives.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage Marketing & Communications projects and oversee their completion
Manage MarComm projects throughout their entire life cycle
Create workflows within project management platform to manage tasks and deadlines
Meet with appropriate parties (leadership, sales team, service team, and/or other regional colleagues) to gain information about a project request and create a plan to accomplish the goals.
Coordinate and prioritize project tasks to ensure key milestones are achieved on schedule
Assist with drafting and/or editing content, articles, advertising, marketing collateral, internal and external communications, and other content as needed
Develop communication materials, such as biographies, agendas, project plans, and PowerPoint presentations as needed
Build and manage processes for collecting and sharing marketing content and/or materials

Provide general marketing and communications department support
Work closely with MarComm team members to project manage any requests and build a strategy for completing projects within deadlines
Possess a broad scope of all MarComm projects to identify where we can maximize our efforts
Schedule meetings and appointments for MarComm-related projects
Other duties and tasks as assigned (copywriting, creative, events, sponsorships, etc.)

Support regional brand and culture initiatives
Assist with the curation and copywriting of news stories, thought leadership, success stories, and other culture related content
Promote internal culture initiatives internally and externally as needed
Manage local award nominations to support brand awarenessEducation and/or Experience
This position interacts with and provides service to a large group of internal associates. The Marketing & Communications Specialist must be positive and approachable, and work effectively with diverse personalities. In addition, the following is required:
5+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
Must have the verbal, written, quantitative and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the pursuit of or completion of a bachelors degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications or in a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. In-depth knowledge of AP Style.
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities to effectively meet multiple deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form.
Strong organization and coordination skills.
Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with the ability to operate standard office equipment is required.Work Environment & Physical Demands
Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.
15% - 30% travel may be required. Travel consists of 1 2 overnight trips per year covering areas both in and out of state.
Extended work required on occasion due to special events and attendance and participation at networking, training, and industry functions that begin well before the workday, and may extend well into the evening.
Maintain a valid Drivers License and have reliable transportation.
