Marsh McLennan is hiring a Senior Compliance Officer for Investments Compliance Monitoring and Testing. This is a hybrid position that requires three days in either our New York City or Boston office.

As a member of the U.S. Investments Compliance Department, you will be part of the Compliance team that manages the compliance programs for the Adviser (the 206(4)-7 compliance program), the Mercer Funds (Rule 38a-1 compliance program), and the Mercer Trust Company contributing your industry knowledge and expertise, as well as your creative ideas, to continually strengthen the programs. We will count on you to:

Design, execute, document, and report on compliance testing in support of the Mercer Investments business, including the Advisers 206(4)-7 program, the proprietary 40 Act mutual funds Rule 38a-1 compliance program, and the Mercer Trust Companys compliance program (together the Program(s)).
Document compliance issues identified through compliance testing, provide compliance guidance to issue owners in support of developing issue remediation, and provide ongoing monitoring of completion of such remediation. Provide periodic reporting on compliance issues to relevant governance committees.
Develop and manage the Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA) keeping it evergreen for changing risk conditions.
Monitor and understand regulatory developments for integration into the CRA.
Work closely with Compliance Testing to keep the CRA current.
Collaborate with the Operational Risk Manager and the Operational Risk Assessment.
Design, assess, and document the Compliance functions controls.
Collaborate to develop, assess, and document business controls.
Prepare the annual Compliance reports required by the Programs.
Monitor and understand regulatory developments for any modifications needed to the Compliance testing and/or risk assessment processes.
Collaborate across the Compliance team and with the Operational Risk Manager providing compliance advice and guidance around control and risk assessments and testing, error and incident management, training, and other topics.


What you need to have:

A Bachelors Degree
A minimum of 7 years of experience at an SEC registered investment adviser working within a compliance department and relevant work experience with managing compliance programs.
Additional work experience with regulatory exams and audits of advisers and funds, Compliance Risk Assessments, updating and writing Compliance Policies, board reporting, compliance training a plus.

Knowledge of Investment Company Act of 1940; Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Knowledge of ERISA regulations is a plus.

Be proactive, and capable of multi-tasking, and ability to organize and prioritize deliverables to meet deadlines within a growing business environment.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections, and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one anchor day per week on which their full team will be together in person.


The applicable base salary range for this role is $112,200 to $224,300.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
