Senior Claims Broker


A technically focused Senior Claims Broker with experience of Cancellation, Non-Appearance and complex contingency claims. The role requires experience of handling complex claims and insurer/adjuster negotiations. Knowledge of the Contingency insurance market is an essential requirement for this hire. The role involves assisting clients on complex claims and leading a team of claims advisers to ensure the swift and successful management of claims timelines from notification to settlement.



What can you expect?

The role demands hands-on and active claims management, problem solving acumen and a strategic approach to client claims settlement goals.
Providing leadership on claims is essential to manage optimum claims outcomes.
You will also be assisting and supporting the broking teams in retaining existing clients by ensuring delivery of a first class claims service and winning new clients by participating in client pitches.
In addition, you will be central to devising how to increase our claims value proposition and capabilities as part of our wider business development drive.
You will also liaise and work closely with brokers/CEs and other claims teams to develop best practice in the class.
In addition, the role requires a commercial acumen to identify claims revenue opportunities and an understanding of how to mitigate Marsh risk by closing claims optimally.

We will rely on you to:



Technical handling

Detailed knowledge of market claim procedures and dynamics
Developing Marshs expertise in managing Contingency claims while offering additional technical support to the existing Personal Accident, Contingency and Events Team.
The successful candidate will be the focal point for SEM contingency claims and will need to have excellent organization and time management skills.
Strong carrier relationships in the relevant markets
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to develop claim strategies.
Presentation and communication skills
Ability to work within a team and foster collaboration.


Claims Solutions Development:

Strong focus on clients and providing value-add services.
A strong client facing demeaner able to promptly respond to client claims enquires, managing expectations whilst providing reassurance and support.
Manage complex claims through to conclusion including liaising with claims advisors for the successful communication, agreements, and collections from the market.
Develop value proposition strategies and ensure delivery of client service standards always comes first.
Initiate and promote the innovation of claim offerings to meet clients developing needs.
Develop and implement revenue generation initiatives.
Provide technical assistance to the claims product leaders and colleagues.
Raise the profile of claims internally through webinars, technical publications etc.
Foster close relationships between claims colleagues across Marsh


Marketing

Work as part of a team to develop and enhance the profile of Claims Solutions with the Sem group.
Coordinate marketing initiatives
Build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, including all Insurer claims personnel.



What you need to have:


Ability to take ownership and provide leadership in claim handling.
Strong inter-personal and communication skills
Organisational skill and the ability to project manage claims.
Understanding of client service requirements and the ability to deliver value.
Ability to work collegiately and develop strong stakeholder relationships.
Experience of technical claim handling
Track record of resolving major and complex claim disputes
Understanding and knowledge of P&L management and budgetary control
Detailed understanding of claims process and markets
Educated to a degree standard and professionally qualified.
Existing relationship with major market Insurers and knowledge of their products
The ability to work within a team and lead and mentor others.
Strong time management, you will need to be able to prioritize your own workload to achieve targets.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Able to adapt quickly and thrive in a changeable working environment.
Works well under pressure and is accountable for deliverables.
Ability to build strong professional relationships.
