Job Summary



We are currently recruiting for a Plumbing Fire/Protection Engineer in our growing building services team. This role will see you technically and creatively challenged on some of the most interesting developments in the US and further afield. Teamwork and a collaborative approach are key to any project at Buro Happold, so your strong communication skills and passion to succeed with others will serve you well.



What will I be doing?



Input to the projects is likely to be varied but will include the requirement to:


The provision of technical / detailed design engineering services to the broader building services team and a responsibility for schematic design through construction documents to a range of external clients.


Delivery of detailed design across; plumbing and fire protection, ground sanitary/waste and rainwater drainage systems, below ground drainage, domestic hot and cold-water services, rainwater harvesting systems, black and grey water systems.


Showing technical mentorship and leadership to our younger engineers and graduates by supporting and encouraging their progression with us.


What can I bring to the role?



As an experienced Plumbing Fire/Protection Engineer, it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate:


Experience of working in a P/FP engineering role and a broad design knowledge and experience of running of US building services projects


3-5 years of relevant experience


Knowledge of using Revit or similar tools, and an in depth understanding of US and Pennsylvania plumbing codes


A self-starter, you'll have a confident, proactive and organized approach to your work, team and clients


A relevant Bachelor or Master degree is preferred


PE and a professional in ASPE or ISPE, with a LEED AP accreditation desirable


Ideally experience in the commercial sector.
