Summary / Role Purpose

The Technical Account Management team functions as a true partner to our customers by listening to their needs and developing a deep working knowledge of their goals, key business initiatives, technical challenges and infrastructure configurations to deliver an outstanding experience.

As Manager, Technical Account Management, you will managea team of Technical Account Managers (TAMs), helping them to identify the respective industry segment opportunities that will expand Ansys footprint, plan and prioritize the necessary technical activities to achieve the account growth plan. These activities span positioning of all Ansys products and include co-ordination with presales, technical support, consulting, training, as well as interfacing with the Ansys development and marketing teams.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with Account Management in identifying the necessary strategic long-term andshort-termtechnical activities worldwide to achieve the overall sales goals with the agreement of the customer; procure the required resources worldwide from the regional technical, training and consulting teams to execute the activity
Lead and participate in the development and mentoring of team members, including, but not limited to, providing the team with effective guidance to support key goals, recruiting top talent, establishingcross product / sub-region collaboration, and professional growth
Conduct annual performancereviewfor team members
Enable TAMs to identify and address whitespace in their accounts
Assure that TAMs team up withengineering teams to provide application expertise from an industry/customer perspective,identify new offerings and create and adapt the value proposition
Facilitate cross-industry collaboration
Establish a long-term and sustainable relationship with the assigned accounts, in the High Tech market segment, by aligning Ansys solutions with the clients key business initiatives
Participate and contribute to field-factory interlock on Ansys product enhancement and competitive solution positioning
Advise on opportunity qualification & market sizing initiatives, and lead technical campaigns for complex engagements
Focus on large value proposition opportunities and scalable solutions with large revenue impact across the globe
Develop methods to improve operations and lead the effective implementation of resulting changes within the team
Drive key-customer engagements including steering committees, management/technical review board meetings and advisory councils
Practice and promote One Ansys culture



Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering or related field
Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8, MS+5, or PhD+3
Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages
Demonstrated understanding of Ansys products, technology and how these tools are used in a particular customer segment(s); ability to understand, represent and effectively communicate all technical activities associated with the account across all physics and product lines
Thorough understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends and customer needs in the industry segment. Translating these requirements into relevant development initiatives for EMEA Field Engineering
Demonstrated experience partnering with Sales, Marketing and Development teams to meet targets
Strong organizational and management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, logical problem-solving, fluent in writing and speaking English
Ability tocoordinate with colleaguesacrossgeographically diverse locations
Projects a professional image, fosters teamwork, and demonstrates business acumen
Ability to travel up to 25% of time


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+10, MS+8, or PhD+6
