Product Sourcing Manager Roles and Responsibilities:


We are seeking a Product Sourcing Manager within our Strategic Sourcing team to be located at Houston TX or Allentown PA. This position requires less than 25 % domestic / global travel.

The role of Product Sourcing Manager (PSM) for the Standard Plants/Process Gases Product Line (SPPL/PGPL) is to support the product line team to develop a portfolio of increasingly competitive products for global opportunities that are subsequently executed in the region.

The PSM will own the Product Procurement Strategy for their respective products and act as the conduit between the SPPL/PGPL and the wider global and regional Procurement organization to develop product competitiveness and a robust supply chain.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across multiple functions, including, procurement, product and technical teams based predominately in US, UK, Saudi Arabia, India and China.
With increased product development opportunities, the PSM will expected be support in the development of new supplier technology and work closely with Category Sourcing Managers to understand the marketplace and align category strategies to product line needs.


Required Skills / Abilities:


Manage cost competitiveness through capital cost reduction and reduction of execution hours, as well as understand the Product Lines technical requirements and commercial implications of product line and category strategies.

Develop & actively manage Product Procurement Strategies for products, including supplier qualification portfolio and planning for strategic product development.

Proactively engage the marketplace (e.g. market trend evaluation, industry expertise) to identify suppliers that may be required to specifically support product needs, exploiting leverage across Air Products, where possible, and mitigating supply risks, whilst meeting APs product and technological requirements.

Work closely with Category Sourcing Managers (CSM), based globally, to ensure that the needs of the Product Line are aligned to the respective supporting category strategies.

Supporting the CSMs in strategic supplier relationship management will also be required.

Support Project Procurement Managers in the region of execution, where they may require strategic sourcing support for EP/EPC projects.

Participate in bid proposal kickoff meetings, review, and procurement estimating strategy meetings for all proposals for the assigned products, including Early Development Work and proposals for global projects and their respective new technologies.



Education and Licensing Requirements:


BS in supply chain/procurement, engineering, or business.
10+ years of work experience in an industrial environment, including sourcing or engineering experience.
