High Tech Genesis is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to play a key role in designing and engineering network systems for our 5G network. You'll contribute to evaluating, testing, selecting, and deploying foundational network elements nationwide.
Additionally, you'll provide advanced technical leadership for complex projects, including upgrades to critical network devices and strategic network enhancements.

In this role, you will:
• Communicate engineering solutions through detailed diagrams.
• Implement Agile methodology for software development.
• Architect and develop software automation tools.
• Guide the team on best software development practices.
• Collaborate with teams to innovate and drive new features forward.

Required skills and experience:
• Must have experience writing test automation in python and be very comfortable with it
• The test automation needs to have configured a router or other networking device (i.e. SSH or Telnet to a box, issue commands and evaluate the responses)
o This requires use of a command known as a “regular expression” in which the developer describes a pattern of the data to be located in a block of other data i.e. we recognize that an IP address is 4 numbers separated by periods…this is how the program recognizes one
• The person needs to have a strong understanding of networking (switching, routing, and wireless)
• The person needs to have experience testing wireless connections
• The person needs to have experience working with traffic generators like Ixia or something similar
• The person needs to champion bugs that they have identified and not let developers overrule them
• The person needs to have experience working in an agile environment with sprints and scrums
• The person needs to have good skills with Linux command line (google top 20 most popular Linux commands)

Optional requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of professional experience in large enterprise or carrier environments
• Professional networking certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent are advantageous
• Extensive knowledge of Python, SQL, JavaScript, BPA, NSO, REST, Bash, and Server virtualization (VMWare, OpenStack)
• Public cloud certifications in advanced networking, cloud network engineer, or equivalent are beneficial
