Job Overview

The Events Manager is an integral part of the overall Oliver Wyman Global Events Team. This role involves leading events across Europe as well as flagship events for the Germany & Austria market with a specific focus on producing firm/client events designed to deepen engagement and meet business objectives. The manager role will take lead in developing and implementing strategic and multi-faceted event programs and supporting the delivery of a robust events framework in the region.
On a market level, the Events Manager is strategically advising the larger local office social committees and office leaders in Germany & Austria with their event planning, budget management and local office engagement and is leading the market flagship events with a specific focus on project team management and execution. For this purpose, the Events Manager is collaborating closely with the Oliver Wyman Market CEO and COO and cross-MMC initiatives in Germany.


Key Responsibilities


Lead the planning of meetings and events as assigned, establishing the vision, and overseeing the ideation, planning, and execution process while in partnership with internal stakeholders (Business Impact Team, Marketing, DTP, EAs) and external vendors.

Manage all aspects of event logistics venue contracting, travel management, invitation and registration, event setup and AV production.

Ownership of budgets and expenses for all managed events.

Work effectively with senior stakeholders across the firms network to deliver high quality attendee experience, against established objectives and in order to support event delivery compliant with firm policy and guidelines.

Provide consultancy services to business teams for internal/client events to ensure best practice and cost efficiency.

A dedicated point of contact for all business staff (support staff, partners, affiliated consultants, and specialists), advising on event planning and firm guidelines.

Support the Events Director on regional and global OW & cross-MMC initiatives across Europe as required.

Independent execution of several strategic projects as required.

Implement key innovation and trends in the industry to create compelling event designs and continually improve standards in our events offering.

Manage vendor relationship across multiple services from procurement to contract negotiation.

Manage 2 event planners through coaching, training, and supervision of event projects.


Who we are looking for...


Minimum of 7+ years of international event management experience across a broad range of large scale events e.g. conferences, group meetings, networking events, virtual broadcasts and webinars

Experience coaching team members and leading project teams.

Previous Events Management experience from the management consultancy, or professional/financial services sector will be preferable.

Bachelors Degree Preferred

Your Technical Skills


Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Strong experience with meeting management software and technology platforms such as Cvent, Zoom, MS Teams
