Oversee the daily operations of the data and back-office product portfolios for multinational credentialing organization, CFA Institute. Utilizing strong understanding of data management and back-office operations, the person will be responsible for vendor relation management, data governance and back-office operations.

Additionally, the Senior Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the back office and data portfolio teams, as well as identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to support these efforts. Duties include defining and promoting the product data strategy, ensuring the data is accurately captured, stored, and maintained, and managing / mentoring junior team members (senior product manager, product managers, and business analysts) who are responsible for delivering in these areas. In addition, the candidate will play a key role in steering the Product Management organization within the Strategic Operations Division. In lieu of working from CFA Institute's Charlottesville office, employee may alternatively work from another CFA Institute office (NYC or Washington DC). May partially work from home in accordance with company policy. Other specific duties include:

Understand the business at a global level and work closely with leadership group to develop product strategies and champion new revenue opportunities. Serve as a passionate advocate for the products in their portfolio and articulate their business value to all levels of the organization. Create new and unique product ideas that motivate inspire others, driving them from conception through implementation. Utilize data backed approaches to recognize trends and opportunities; capitalize on consumer and corporate purchasing behaviors to translate into a compelling and inspiring vision. Identify and understand stakeholders and their needs; acts with their interest in mind; and gain their trust and engagement. Communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles, in a professional and diplomatic demeanor. Embrace change to course correct roadmaps and deliverables to emerging opportunities in the product vision. Navigate and build effective relationships with key partners across the organization (such as product marketing, sales, and support) to develop effective go-to-market strategies, sales readiness, and product launch activities, showing an understanding of the differences in people and cultures. Establish product goals and monitor performance metrics (KPIs, usage statistics, etc.) and leverage data to inform future product improvements and decisions. Achieve results through both formal channels and informal networks by being actively involved with developers and designers to drive the launch and ongoing development of products and back-office systems. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in managing budgets and support business case development. Lead cross-functional products teams; coach and mentor associates within the product group, set clear goals and objectives and inspire and enable others to deliver results and play a leadership role in upskilling activities. Utilize excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to handle responsibilities, including asking questions rather than only following directions.

Location of employment: In lieu of working from CFA Institute's Charlottesville office, employee may alternatively work from another CFA Institute office (NYC or Washington DC). May partially work from home in accordance with company policy. May travel up to 10-20% of time, including to domestic CFA Institute offices, as well as internationally to global geographic society locations.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field (or foreign equivalent)

-5 years of experience as a product manager/owner or programmer/analyst

-In addition to 5 years of experience as a product manager / product owner / programmer / analyst, the Senior Director, Product Management must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

(1) working with educational technology, fintech, or eCommerce organizations;

(2) building and managing data platforms and/or integrating with data services;

(3) management of back-office productivity platforms, CRM, or case management platforms; and

(4) creating data-driven capabilities for tracking and reporting.
