Design and validate EHI components, such as ECM Brackets, Wiring Harnesses and Sensor Placement, on VPI /CPS projects. Investigate electronic hardware problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution and document results. Effectively communicate the capability of a design concept to meet cross-functional requirements including assessment of alternative and competitive design concepts. Develop and execute design verification plan and reports based on provided standards. Verify design through fit checks, analysis, environmental and functional testing. Write and execute onsite and offsite testing. Coordinate failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA). Drive decision, assess risks, and mitigate. Work effectively across cross-functional teams to resolve electrical component issues. Define and evaluate customer needs to align expectations. Coordinate communication efforts and hold cross functional reviews. Work directly with suppliers, leading supplier meetings, reviewing data and compiling reports. Make decisions in the areas of design, validation and test that impact unit cost, functionality, and prototype delivery. Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience required.
