Position Summary: Responsible for creating, administering, and leading the training program and SOP (standard operating procedures) program for the Salts department as a whole. Lead the department towards excellence in those two areas. Provide circuit technical knowledge and direction to enable the area to meet safety, quality, and production goals. Serve as a thread of continuity or bridge between different shifts to assure actions and plans are followed through to meet targets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Salts team to develop and maintain documented programs to include: new operator training, refresher operator and engineer.
Create and maintain all Salts training materials at a world class level
Maintain operator qualification strategy
Perform gap analysis on the Salts SOPs
Work with operators and engineers to capture and document best practices into the SOPs
Work with operators and engineers to create new SOPs
Manage and maintain the document control system for the Salts area
Document MOCs as required
Accountable to utilize technical knowledge to help operators, shift supervisors, and engineers troubleshoot process issues.
Responsible to initiate and/or approve MOC requests to include action items, training, PSSRs, etc.
Accountable for initiating incident investigations, investigates incidents or near misses, identifies root cause, reports findings and implements action required to close events or action items in Cority system as necessary.
Responsible to assists the area manager as needed in implementing action items
Responsible for assisting engineering in assembling information for Process Safety Information
Responsible to participate in Quality System Audits and ensures Areas compliance as a backup to the area TA
Responsible to assist as needed to complete applicable permits and job walkdowns for Maintenance and Contractor work (i.e. Lockout/Tagout, Safe Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, etc.)
Responsible to have the ability to flex to any production position as needed to back fill

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Minimum 5 years experience in Livent process manufacturing
Operator qualification required in designated department

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Plans, schedules, and leads team meetings and training sessions when needed.
Ability to operate all aspects of the processes and has the ability to assist more than one circuit/plant at a time when required
Uses logic and appropriate methods to successfully troubleshoot and solve difficult problems
Uses the computer to accurately enter information and data into Livent business systems (LQM, SAP, Hang Tag, SIMS, MOC, CPAR, OEE database, BMScale)
Uses effective oral and written communication
Uses MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and VMX to communicate all work instructions, circuit and order statuses
Writes Notifications as needed for breakdowns and circuit needs on-shift
Follows policies and procedures; work ethically and with integrity

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. To perform emergency response activities, the employee will occasionally be required to don a self-contained breathing apparatus and/or a full face respirator.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
