Reinsurance Technician (Facultative Team) Witham - Hybrid working Pattern


We are seeking experienced Insurance professionals to join Guy Carpenter in order to work as part of a dedicated team of Technicians in Witham.

As a Reinsurance Technician, You will support our client base through transactional processing, securing reinsurance recoveries and through timely and accurate system entry.

We have a number of opportunities within the Facultative team on a permanent basis!

This role is available on a hybrid basis, offering home working for 2-3 days, with the other days based in our newly refurbished office in Witham. Free parking is available a short walk from the office.

Although this is a full time offering, candidates looking to work 28 hours+ may be considered.

We will rely on you to:

Manage an assigned client portfolio, taking full responsibility of technical duties relating to facultative risks types.
Assess and submit client and/or reinsurer presentation materials and communications
Manage all brokerage receivables, funding, retention, e-trading, post booking receipt, ad hoc reporting requests, payment of funds and all management and transactional process steps
Promote, build and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets. Understand issues, resolve problems and queries and review working practices
Participate in team meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions


What you need to have:

Prior Reinsurance experience ideally within Facultative
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willingness to learn
Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations


What makes you stand out:

(These skills are not essential)
Previous Reinsurance experience within Pro Rata, Binder and/or Excess of Loss
Significant experience of working in a technical capacity for a Broker
Experience of using London Market systems such as ECF and LORS
