AMPLE, INC IN BRISBANE, CA SEEKS Sr Manufacturing Engineer (Job ID AMPM005) to perform the following JOB DUTIES: Solve complex manufacturing challenges involving electric vehicles, robotics and smart battery technology. Focus on deployment, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining a new automated assembly system. Develop manufacturing and assembly quality control (QC) methodologies and electromechanical pass / fail devices. Design and build manufacturing and ergonomics fixtures. Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed. Develop and test effective automated and manual systems. Design, install and quality check equipment. Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources. Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance. Train staff in new and existing processes. Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers. Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations. Upgrade systems and processes with new technology. Hire, train, supervise, manufacturing engineers and technicians team of 5-6 (3 engineers and 3 technicians). Own layout design for BM and P&T+Ant-Farm. Author key automation equipment write up for CEC grant application. Manage process improvement & equipment upgrade projects. Lead engineering team to build BM enclosure epoxy dispense robot. Design test fixtures for Pulse and high-pot test critical to BM line. Design isolation test and Pulse test for in-line testing.

This position will involve international travel to overseas equipment integrators to perform system qualification and acceptance testing 2-4x/year for about 2 weeks each trip.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Experience: 3 years of mechanical engineering experience with Industrial robotics.
Experience to include:
1. Robotic end-of-arm tooling design, computer vision based optical inspection;
2. PLC network setup, ladder logic programming & troubleshooting;
3. Solidworks 3D sketch / assembly model design;
4. Work with 3D printer and CNC machine prototyping;
5. Design, build & program small arduino boards used for manufacturing QC / QA devices;
6. Lean manufacturing methodologies, production process yield & capacity optimization
7. Interpretation and application of OSHA, CE & UL machine & robotics safety standards;
8. Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques & tools;
9. Factory layout design and planning using AutoCAD.

Salary: $165,000 to $170,000 per year
