Job Description Summary
The candidate should be having about 12 to 15 years of experience in precommissioning, commissioning and start-up in the field of electrical systems. He should be having thorough hands-on experience in testing and energization of LV/HV panels, motors, generators, transformers, etc.


Job Description
To provide the electrical commissioning functions for Air Products green field plants and to ensure that the equipment is installed and commissioned to the highest standard.
Provide electrical supervision and technical assistance for installation and commissioning activities as required.
Investigate and resolve electrical equipment upsets and failures in a timely and efficient manner.
Determine root cause of failures and follow these up by recommending and implementing appropriate solutions to reduce re-occurrence of/or eliminate the cause of failures.
To ensure compliance in all aspects of the job with the requirements of the AP EH&S and local HSE safety systems.
Perform all necessary HV, MV and LV switching activities as required.
Testing and commissioning of control & relay panel for Generator, Transformer, Bus Coupler, Bus-Transfer, and Line feeder.
Testing and commissioning of power control center and motor control center (MCC).
Testing and configurations of Protection Relays for various requirements. Experience with Siemens, ABB, SEL, Alstom and many other relays.
Over current and earth fault relays.
Motor protection relays: MM2, MM5, MM6, Multiline, SEL, Siprotec relay etc.
Under voltage Protection relays.
Generator Protection, Transformer protection, Transformer Differential Protection & REF Protection, Line Differential and synchronizing scheme.
Testing of CT, P.T., CVT, OCB, GCB, VCB and Vacuum Circuit breaker, LV HV switch gear and Power Transformer.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: -
Technical and practical knowledge and experience is required in commissioning following equipments:
MV and LV motors
MV and LV generators
HV, MV and LV switchgears
Power transformers
Power factor compensation systems
Starting equipment
Control systems.
Conversant with up-to-date European (EN) and British Standards (BS) as well as other international standards such as the International Electro technical Commission (IEC)
Sound knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and practical application acc.to ATEX
Good communications skills
Fluent oral English and excellent written English.

Experience is required in the following areas associated with electrical systems: Trouble shooting, fault finding and commissioning
Switching activities
Planning and scheduling
Technical report writing
Interfaces with external personnel including clients, vendors and supply authorities
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 12 - 15 years experience in the petrochemical or allied industry.
A background in at least two or more of the areas of construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of process plants is required.
