Title: Scientist II
Location: 100 Hood Park Drive, Boston, MA 02129

Duties: Perform routine analytical testing on large and small molecules using techniques such as Chromatography and Spectrophotometry to generate data supporting regulatory submissions. Author protocols and reports for method development, qualification, and transfer. Design and execute phase-appropriate test method development, optimization, qualification, transfer, and life cycle management. Generate, analyze, maintain, and review data in a highly organized manner, including electronic lab notebook maintenance. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of key laboratory analytical equipment as needed. Mentor and guide junior scientists or direct reports in the design and execution of their work and career development. Position reports into HQ office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related biological science field plus five (5) years of experience as a Scientist or any occupation/position/job title with experience performing large or small molecule analysis.

Experience may be gained concurrently and must include:

Five (5) years in each of the following:
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize and balance work from multiple sources

Three (3) years in each of the following:
- Utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and JMP data analysis software to record and analyze scientific data and prepare reports
- Serving as Subject Matter Expert in analytical development of small molecule and protein separations using Chromatography
- Qualification and method transfer of functional potency and residual impurity assays for gene therapies to CTO's
- Designing and executing phase-appropriate test method development, optimization, qualification, transfer, and life cycle management
- Performing maintenance and troubleshooting of key laboratory analytical equipment
- Designing and conducting accelerated and long-term stability studies for drug substance and drug products.

Two (2) yeas in each of the following:
- Chromatography, spectrophotometry, and CTO management
- Compiling data to foster product knowledge and comparability studies and support regulatory submissions.

One (1) year in each of the following:
- Leading or mentoring junior scientists.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of described experience.
