Why this job is important


The
Internal Controls Analyst
role is responsible for assessing effectiveness of internal controls, supporting the business to implement controls and remediate control gaps to ensure that the controls are operating in an efficient manner.

This role will report into the Director of Controls and will have primary responsibility for identifying, testing, and reporting on the in-scope business process controls included in the Kantar Controls Framework, operating within Finance and Procurement.

What youll be doing


Supporting the design and implementation of in-scope business process controls aligned with the UK SOX Internal Control and Kantar Controls Standard framework, including understanding the documentation and evidence standards required.

Participating in planning and prioritising reviews for Finance, Procurement and MDM controls testing. This will involve meeting relevant stakeholders to understand and walk through the business processes to identify the key risks and controls to be assessed.

Assessing design adequacy and operating effectiveness of business process internal controls in line with the approved testing calendar.

Documenting test results, assessing the risk and impact, and communicating gaps identified to the business.

Producing reports of testing results and recommending corrective / improvement actions.

Supporting the business to identify adequate and timely action and performing follow up on corrective actions.

Liaising with colleagues globally to understand global processes, facilitate standardisation and sharing of good practice and support firmwide projects around new processes, investigation of incidents or other ad-hoc activities.

Participating in ongoing quality reviews and control monitoring programs.

Supporting the Director of Controls on any Audit Committee and other ad hoc reporting.

The skills & experience youll need


Bachelors/University degree in a related field.

Qualified professional (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA) or working towards it.

Minimum of 2+ years of experience (industry, consulting or external audit experience in internal / external audit, risk management or business process improvement).

Understanding of finance processes, risks, and controls for mid-size and listed organisations.

Exposure to internal control and regulatory requirements.

Able to operate across the breadth of the organisation and work well with stakeholders at all levels.

Proficient English (written and spoken), and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
