Job TitleIntern - Manufacturing Operations - Plymouth, MN - Summer 2024
Job Description

Job title:
In this role, you have the opportunity to be part of a strong manufacturing team, where you can gain exposure to Philips internal manufacturing operations through hands on experience in different areas of engineering, manufacturing, and production.


Projects may include:

Partner with a supplier to enhance their manufacturing process by designing a fixture to reduce scrap. This project involves working closely with the vendor to implement a new tool.
Collaborate with the quality team to review sampling methods, aiming to reduce costs. This project involves developing new strategies and measurement criteria to support manufacturing.


Your role:

Help support production by identifying and implementing design and process changes as required, including required process validation and process risk management activities.
Help obtain and oversee equipment installation and supporting ramp-up of the manufacturing production line.
Assist in the continuous improvement of quality, delivery, and cost through effective use of lean manufacturing principles
Help create Standard Work and Work Instructions


You're the right fit if:

Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial/Systems, Manufacturing, or Mechanical.
Strong mechanical reasoning skills for identifying and solving problems, developing innovative solutions, acting decisively, and demonstrating good judgment.
Successful track record of executing school and/or internship projects.
Previous internship experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
SolidWorks skills are preferred.
AutoCAD skills are preferred.
Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
Ability to work in teams and independently.

Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 to $28.00, plus overtime eligible.The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
