A healthcare system in Independence, MO is seeking ongoing locums tenens Emergency Medicine coverage.

Schedule:

• Minimum 4 shifts per month
• 6a-4p, 9a-7p, 1p-11p, 5p-3a, 8p-6a
• Start once credentialed
• Ongoing

Cases/Volume/Details:

• 3.2-4 patients per hour
• 65k annual visits
• 45 ED beds
• Level II trauma center
• 47 hours of APP coverage
• No scribe
• Dedicated nocturnist
• MediTech
• Subspecialty backup: Cardio, Neuro, Neonatal, Ortho,Radiology, Surgery

Requirements:

• Residency: Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine. 
• Any physician falling under the “grandfather clause” declaring physicians board eligible if they completed 8,000 hours of clinical practice in emergency departments by 1988, will NOT qualify.
• Board Certification: Board certified or board eligible (with achievement of certification within 3 years) leading to certification in EM by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). 
• ABPS Board Certification will NOT be accepted.
• Life Certifications:
• NIHSS required for all
• ACLS, ATLS, PALS and BLS required for any EM Board Eligible physician. 
• Immunizations: PPD/FLU/COVID
• CME: 24 months
• CASE LOGS: 24 months
