Residential Assistant

One Full-Time opportunity (Up to 30 hours per week, 3rd Shift Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Multiple Part-Time opportunities (2nd Shift Weekday, 1st & 2nd Shift Weekends)

Brighton Center, Inc. is a private non-profit community-based organization with the mission to create opportunities for individuals and families to reach self-sufficiency through family support services, education, employment, and leadership.

We currently have a Full-Time opportunity for an individual who would like to make a career in a not-for-profit organization. We are looking for an individual to work in an organization that helps its customers become self-sufficient.

Position Purpose: Provide direct supervision to residents of Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound Shelter. The 24/7 shelter serves abused, neglected, and homeless youth ages 11-17, males and females. RAs actively engage with youth to enhance their progress towards individual goals. RAs play an essential role in supporting youth as they build life skills, participate in school, seek employment, and increase their social-emotional wellbeing.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage the daily activities of residents
Providing behavior management as needed
Ensuring meals are prepared in a timely fashion
Assist with 24/7 hour shelter programming
Answering all hotline calls and providing crisis counseling as necessary
Collaborating with Treatment Team in developing youth service plans
Attend monthly employee meetings and training as necessary
Serves youth ages 11-17
24/7 Emergency Shelter & residential treatment program

Job Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age
Two years’ experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred
Must have a High School diploma, some colleges preferred
Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record for at least the past 5 years
Residential experience a plus
