Director, EPMO (Hybrid/Remote)

We have an immediate need for a Director, EPMO to join a world-class academic medical center. The Director, EPMO Provides development, leadership and oversight for IS's Project Management Office and IS Finance operations.

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid preferred but will consider remote with occasional onsite as needed)

This job expects to pay about $150,000 – 210,000 annually.

What You Will Do: 


  • Directs the creation, implementation, and maintenance of a centralized Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Manages a diverse portfolio of projects across IS, and day-to-day operational aspects of the PM office, IS Finance and staff.
  • Has responsibility for standardizing execution of projects, providing guidance on practice and application of project management, and ensuring successful execution of projects and programs through effective facilitation, tracking, and reporting consistent with project objectives and IS's strategic plan.
  • Directly and indirectly oversees multiple program managers, project managers, project coordinators and subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for ensuring projects are managed from initiation through flawless execution according to established PMO project management methodology and aligning to organizational goals and strategic objectives.
  • Works directly with IS and Leadership governance committees to evaluate new requests as relates to technical feasibility, alignment with organizational architectural and technical standards, technical work efforts and availability of resources.

What Gets You The Job: 


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Highly desired: Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Minimum 5 -10 years in portfolio, program and project management required.
  • Must have 6+ years’ experience managing technical development teams in support of clinical and administrative system.
  • Experience in Demand Management and Strategic Planning in a formal and/or centralized PMO environment with a working knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to listen and build relationships with colleagues, leadership, customers and partners.
  • Experience building, coaching, and managing an effective and cohesive team in a matrixed structure.
  • Hospital/Healthcare experience.
