Procurement Specialist (Southampton, NY): Negotiate prices, discount terms and transportation arrangements with current and prospective suppliers. Select, order, and purchase merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements for the gas station and convenience store’s key business criteria and inventory needs. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best buying options among potential suppliers. Analyze past buying trends, sales records, price, and quality of merchandise to determine value and yield. Prepare purchase orders, communicate with suppliers and track the status of orders. Check shipments to ensure that orders have been filled properly and goods meet specifications. Monitor sales trends and inventory levels to plan future orders. Track status of requisitions, contracts, and orders. Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships. Salary is $56,077 annually.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field and 1 year of experience as Procurement Specialist, Purchasing Coordinator, Buyer or related position. Experience analyzing price proposals for procurement activities and tracking orders, and contract status. Experience negotiating with vendors and managing supplier relationships. Experience projecting the sales and controlling the inventory levels based on seasonal fluctuations. Experience conducting quantity and quality control of sourced products.
