Job Responsibilities

• Cook traditional Indian dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, using traditional techniques and recipes. It could include curries, tandoori dishes, naan and rotis, rice dishes, and desserts.
• Prepare and cook food using specialized cooking equipment, such as ovens and grills.
• Create new dishes or improve existing ones by experimenting with recipes.
• Ensure that all dishes are cooked properly and of high quality. It includes tasting dishes before serving to check seasoning, temperature, and texture.
• Ensure that food is stored safely and that work surfaces, utensils, and equipment are kept clean.
• Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies as needed, and ensure fresh and quality ingredients.
• Ensure that all food safety regulations are followed, including maintaining correct food temperatures.
• Prepare and cook food for special events, parties, or catering orders, which may require working on a larger scale or creating special menus.
• Assist the kitchen staff in developing their culinary skills by mentoring and training them.
• Promote teamwork with a professional and positive attitude.
• Estimate the cost and quantity of food required.

Job Requirements

• Completion of Secondary School.
• 2-3 years of cooking experience in a similar environment or completion of education in cooking/culinary.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
