Position: Lead Installation Technician Location: San Diego, CA Fulltime/ Permanent with Benefits Job Description: We are looking for a Lead Installation Technician who can organize and complete projects with little to no supervision. Lead technicians should be well experienced installing and maintaining access control, alarm, and CCTV systems. They will also need good communication skills, making sure that technicians under their responsibility are working efficiently and in accordance with us and industry standards. Lead Technicians will also need good customer service skills, often times interacting with the client and ensuring they are trained on their new system as well as satisfied with the completed product. Responsibilities Installation of Low voltage systems to include Card Access, Intrusion Alarm, CCTV. Ensure quality installation in all aspects of assigned projects. Consistently update Project Manager daily with detailed notes of the job progress for the day. Identify/determine types of equipment, tools, or materials needed for jobs. Cut, bend and manipulate conduit. Assist with technician training if/when directed. Complete all aspects of small/medium installation projects. In conjunction with the Project Manager, perform Project initiation and Planning Execution Closeout / Training processes. Accurately complete all job-related paperwork including transfer of field changes to as-builts, submittal of inventory-related receipts, and end-of-job parts review/confirmation. Conform with all our safety training requirements and participate in the our Safety Committee. Study literature and attend seminars to keep current on industry products, processes, and materials as directed Perform service repairs or system modifications for customer systems Perform job site surveys Document and submit system details for records Communicate with customers to provide job scope summaries and site survey results Provide updates and descriptions of jobs to the main office Test and inspect systems for deficiencies or necessary repairs Complete test and inspection reports and submit to the main office and customer Work with remote programmers to commission and configure systems Be available for on-call rotation approximately once every six weeks Responsible for operating a company vehicle, and taking the company vehicle home Qualifications Experience working with low-voltage security systems Excellent customer service skills Strong troubleshooting skills Able to work with a team or independently at job sites Experience with Kantech, DSC, Ademco, Linear, Milestone, Hikvision, Wave/Spectrum/NX software is preferable, Fire alarm experience a plus. Understanding of IP networks. Proficiency in networking preferred. Strong comfort with technology and innovation Able to use mobile invoicing and dispatching apps Ability to install more complex systems that include integration and/or are larger in scope Ability to read and interpret documents including blueprints, engineering drawings, electrical schematics, project specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, or graphic instructions Lift, carry, setup, and work for a regular 8-hour scheduled shift on ladders ranging from step to 22 extension Lift and carry boxes of wire that can exceed 25lbs Work with hand tools including drivers, wrenches, drills, and saws on a level plane, vertical plane, and overhead Clean driving record Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance
