Summary: Receive incoming materials accurately, inspecting for quality and quantity accuracy. Prepare materials for customers orders for shipment and shipping containers. Ensure orders are shipped in a timely manner and without damage. Coordinate activities and staff and be primary back up for Shipping/Receiving Supervisor for all dock activities.
Principle Duties: ? Ensure all incoming materials are received according to the defined procedure ? Support the production schedule by coordinating shipping needs with Contracts, Production Control, Quality and Production ? Maintain shipping office and dock area in a clean and orderly manner ? Perform preventive maintenance on the forklift ? Organize and maintain the shipping/receiving office and warehouse in a clean and orderly manner ? Pack all outgoing freight in such a manner as to avoid damage in transit ? Contact freight companies as needed to arrange for transport of outgoing shipments ? Load outgoing shipments ? Monitor & manage the shipping/receiving supplies ? Assist staff in moving heavy material manually or with power equipment ? Backup Shipping/Receiving Supervisor ? All other duties as required, including but not limited to, working in receiving, shipping, warehouse or assisting other departments as necessary
Job Requirements: ? Must be able to communicate clearly & effectively (in English) with internal and external customers and suppliers. This may be verbal or written ? Must possess strong computer and data entry skills ? Must be detailed oriented and have good organizational skills ? Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, peak workload periods, holidays, and before/during/after the annual physical inventory ? Must be capable of operating the standup forklift (reach truck), forklift and power tools ? Must be self-motivated, embrace and drive continuous improvement and work with minimum supervision ? Must be able to work with external personnel (Delivery drivers and suppliers) and internal personnel and manage occasional conflicting priorities ? Documented US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status
Physical Requirements: Must be able to hear, see, speak/write English, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, sit, stand for extended periods, reach, grab, keyboard, file and lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Education/Experience: ? High school graduate or equivalent ? Minimum 5 years of inbound/outbound dock operations experience
