ICAT Summer 2024 Internship

ICAT, a division of Victor Insurance Holdings wasfounded in 1998 and based in Broomfield, Colorado; ICAT is a leading provider of property insurance protection to homeowners and businesses located in hurricane- and earthquake-exposed regions of the United States. ICAT draws from highly specialized underwriting expertise and advanced technology tools to offer brokers and their clients market-leading catastrophe coverage. Along with its subsidiary, Boulder Claims, ICATs inherent promise to policyholders is to assist people and businesses as they recover from disasters. ICAT programs currently protect over 85,000 homeowners and business owners in catastrophe-exposed regions of the US.

The Claims Operations Intern will gain an understanding of the insurance claims process, assist in bringing normalcy back to the lives of our customers, learn about claims preparation for natural catastrophes and how it differs from day-to-day claims handling, and learn about the customer experience. The intern will gain first-hand experience through an assigned summer project and presentation of the findings to the executive team. Examples include exploration of benefits of using recent technology or tools to the claims handling process, cost/benefit associated with workflow improvement, and analysis of data to identify ways to improve the customer experience.

Throughout the 10 weeks, interns will have an opportunity to collaborate with interns at other Victor subsidiaries. ICAT Interns will participate in formal training, structured projects and social and volunteer events, which demonstrate our commitment to colleagues, clients and communities.

Upon completion of the summer internship, exceptional juniors may be extended an offer to join as a full-time colleague upon graduation.


A TYPICAL DAY COULD INCLUDE:


Applying insurance theory in a practical setting

Working with the ICAT Boulder Claims team on new and ongoing initiatives

Creating and expanding benchmarking reports

Executing a group project with fellow Victor Interns

Participating in Training Modules

Building a network of colleagues at all levels of the organization

Current Juniors with an expected graduation date of December 2024 or May/June 2025

Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application and start date

Risk management, finance, business, accounting , majors preferred, but all majors accepted

Applicants must have legal work authorization in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

LOCATION

This internship will be in-person, 5 days/week, in the Broomfield, CO office.

Housing will be provided and relocation travel expenses to/from Broomfield, CO (airfare, gas, hotel) will be covered for the successful candidate.
