Job Description:
As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients across various healthcare settings.. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychological, and emotional aspects. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans. Nursing Care: Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to physician orders and established protocols. Monitor patients' vital signs and responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Provide clear instructions on medication administration, wound care, and lifestyle modifications to promote wellness and prevent complications. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff, to coordinate patient care and achieve positive outcomes. Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care and timely intervention. Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients' rights and preferences are respected throughout their healthcare journey. Advocate for appropriate resources and support services to meet patients' holistic needs. Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to evidence-based practice initiatives. Professional Development: Pursue ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in nursing practice, technology, and healthcare regulations. Seek opportunities for professional growth and certification to enhance expertise and career advancement. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred). Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications (preferred). With proven experience of at least 6 months in Medical Surgical. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
