Construction and Infrastructure practice, PPP and Operational Infrastructure team.

Our client base includes the worlds leading construction and engineering companies as well as the worlds leading Infrastructure Investment funds who are looking to expand or improve their portfolio of operational assets. This is an exciting time in the sector as funds diversify to embrace the energy transition and drive to net zero


Marsh Specialty is seeking candidates for the following position based in the London office.



What can you expect:

Exposure to complex project insurance placements within the UK and global construction sector
An important part of a busy and close knit team of dedicated construction insurance specialists who provide a wide range of insurance advice to service the annual programme requirements of a portfolio of existing investment companies clients along with associated projects.
Industry focused insurance and technical training from the markets leading construction and operational insurance professionals
Work closely with some of our major clients, developing an in-depth knowledge of their business and managing their insurance needs as well as developing good client relationships
Build on your existing insurance and industry knowledge and manage relationships with our broking and claims teams along with other support colleagues
Act as point of contact with our European network hubs and be expected to meet with global clients

We will rely on you to:

The Account Executive will work within a highly skilled team with unrivalled experienced in serving major construction and Investment companies; operating at the highest level of professionalism and insurance knowledge within their sectors, which will provide a solid platform for career development and learning within the specialty environment.

Place business:

Collect and analyse risk information and claims data, produce underwriting submissions, review and update wordings
Assist in planning broking strategy and broke in the UK and International markets (in conjunction with our market leading broking team) to assess the responses from insurers and prepare renewal reports to clients
Issue documentation including agreed wordings, placing slips, endorsements, certificates, insurance manuals and minutes of meetings

Day to day service:

Contract reviews review of indemnity and insurance provisions of wide variety of project finance contracts
Site visits meetings with operating companies
Client presentations primarily focused on Property and BI

Claims Service

Support our claims colleagues with on major / complex claims and provide advice on claims strategy and appropriate actions
Prepare and attend claims review meetings

New Business

Identify new business opportunities
Assist our new business development team and PEMA to secure new business


What you need to have:

Proven insurance handling/broking experience within Corporate Clients
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
Excellent communication skills and confidence to develop strong relationships with senior level client contact points
Knowledge of Annual insurance programmes
Technical competence in MD/BI/PL
Technical competence in CAR/EL/GL/ preferred but not essential
A good team working ethos


What makes you stand out:

CII part/fully qualified (or equivalent) preferred
Project/ Limited recourse finance experience
Contractual risk management experience and advising clients pre financial close
Knowledge of Infrastructure funds
Experience of PFI/PPP
Experience on energy transition/ Bio-energy/ Data-centres
Competency in European language
