Registered Nurse Med/Surg/Telemetry- Veteran Care Specialist - AG Grace Advantage Health is looking for caring nurses to:

Position:  Registered Nurse Med/Surg Telemetry 
Location:  Syracuse VA Medical Center 


Key Responsibilities:

Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide expert nursing care to veterans, focusing on preventive measures, acute and chronic conditions, and rehabilitation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to patient well-being.

Advocacy and Support: Serve as an advocate for veterans, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. Establish strong rapport with patients, offering emotional support and fostering a trusting relationship.

Specialized Clinical Skills: Utilize advanced nursing skills to address the unique healthcare needs of veterans. Manage complex medical conditions, administer treatments, and conduct assessments to enhance patient outcomes.

Patient Education: Empower veterans with the knowledge and tools to manage their health effectively. Provide education on wellness, disease prevention, and self-care strategies.

Collaborative Teamwork: Engage in collaborative efforts with fellow healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to optimize patient care and streamline healthcare delivery.

Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage medical emergencies with confidence and efficiency. Demonstrate resilience and quick decision-making during critical situations.

Community Engagement: Actively participate in outreach programs, community events, and veteran support initiatives to strengthen the bond between the healthcare system and the veteran community.

Qualifications:

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.

Current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor.

Current Basic Life Support certification. If assigned to a specialty clinic,
RN shall also have current ACLS certification.

A minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
Experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for experience in veteran healthcare

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Specialty Registered Nurses. Specialty Registered Nurses shall have:
Minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the specialty care setting
Commitment to providing compassionate and culturally competent care to veterans

Duties:
Patient assessment and monitoring 
Medication administration and management 
Wound care and treatment
Patient education and support 
Documentation and recordkeeping

  Shift Available: 

5 Shifts Per Week | 40 Scheduled Hours | 7:30am-4:00pm
5 Shifts Per Week | 40 Scheduled Hours | 11:30pm-8:00am
5 Shifts Per Week | 40 Scheduled Hours | 3:30pm-12:00am
5 Shifts Per Week | 40 Scheduled Hours | 7:30pm-8:00am
3 Shifts Per Week | 36 Scheduled Hours | 7:30am-8:00pm
