Position Responsibilities:
Design, develop and implement applications for large scale Mainframe database Application working in a distributed development environment under the direction of more senior technical staff; develop designs for converting requirements into business processes using IBM Assembler (HLASM) language, Cobol programming language, IMS, DB2 and/or IBM CICS (Customer Information Control System) participate in the business value assessment and business requirements elaboration phases; perform detail design work for workflows, business rules, user interfaces and reports; participate in the requirements, design and construction phases and support the successful delivery of the project from a high level technical perspective; ensure that applications are built for change, scalability, and reusability; coordinate unit testing and integration testing with the development team and bug fixing with the testing team with input from product management; design/code applications following specifications using the appropriate tools and adhering to the companies coding standards; design and develop new applications with an emphasis on minimized maintenance requirements, as well as performing maintenance and enhancement of existing applications; Interface with end-users for the purpose of design and implementation and troubleshooting problems. The employer is an IT consulting firm that assigns employees, often on short notice, to work at various project sites that cannot be anticipated significantly in advance of the assignment.
Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field plus (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate distributed IT experience including at least three (3) years of design and development of applications for Mainframe or similar large databases; or

Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field plus three (3) years of distributed design and development of applications for Mainframe or similar large databases.
