Your Opportunity:
Philips invites you to apply for a rare opportunity that has recently become available for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our highly respected in-house legal team. This diverse role will see you closely embedded in the business and act as a business partner to all sectors within Philips (Healthcare, Personal Health and Sleep and Respiratory Care) for Australia and New Zealand, to ensure that our business activities and decisions are fully supported in the identification and management of legal and compliance risk. This role provides direct access and exposure to the local executive team.


Key responsibilities:


Providing legal support on issues relating to our products and services, sales and marketing activities, customer agreements, private and government tenders and distribution channel agreements (distributors, agents and retailers etc.).

Play a critical role in advising on competition law, advertising and promotional materials.

Responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts including updating and localising global templates, supply contracts, services contracts, retailer terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements and letters of intent. Philips local legal team is also supported by a highly qualified contracts management team.

Working with external counsel to manage commercial disputes and settlement including litigation.

Working with external counsel and global teams on regulatory related matters with governing bodies.

Support the roll out of new Go-To Market models for the different business segments.

Support training activities for staff including annual legal compliance training.

Support the global Privacy Group with local privacy related matters and training activities.


Youre the right person if:


You have gained in-house legal experience in Healthcare or ICT, or have top tier/mid-tier private practice in relevant practice areas. Experience in supporting digital solutions sales contracts and advising on privacy matters will be a key advantage.

Ideally upwards of 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

General corporate commercial experience with a proven foundation in the areas of contract law, Australian Consumer Law, Privacy Law and some exposure to Corporations Act.

The ability to work independently and collaboratively with local and regional legal team members.
