Next Insurance, Inc. seeks Backend Software Engineer in Palo Alto, CA:

Job Duties: Design, architect and build scalable and robust solutions that provide insights to the business. Conduct unit testing for business User Acceptance Testing for finalizing the solution for production. Work with business stakeholders (including the Vice President and C-level executives) to collect requirements for new project initiatives that involve Policy Management and the Pay As You Go systems. Set up meetings with the target users and stakeholders to understand the business and technology demands and requirements. Define the work roadmap (Business Model Architecture) and estimate the possible timeline of the project by completing the initial research on relevant data fields from various sourcing systems, proposing feature and/or enhancement via impact study. Adjust the Payments’ product design and technology roadmap for coping with the ever-changing demand from business perspectives. Own the Pay As You Go system, and be responsible for any technical questions and issues related to this product. Provide support to all users and stakeholders in real-time. Telecommuting and remote employment permitted. Salary: $164,000 to $188,600.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related position.

Special Skill Requirements: at least one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills: 1. Software design and development with microservices architecture; 2. High-scalability web application development; 3. Programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or C#; 4. Continuous integration including Bamboo, Jenkins, Ant, Maven, and Gradle; 5. Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as S3, SQS, SNS, or RDS; 6. Version Control System including Git, SVN, and Jira; 7. Monitoring utilizing Grafana, Prometheus, or Kibana; 8. Databases such as SQL, MySQL, H2, JDBI, or Hibernate; and, 9. Test Driven Development. Telecommuting and remote employment permitted.
