Next Insurance, Inc. seeks Data Scientist, Analytics in Palo Alto, CA:

Job Duties: Design and conduct data analytics to drive strategy and roadmap for profitability across the company. Proactively work with cross-functional and cross-domain teams to influence their strategic roadmap and business direction by providing actionable data insights. Apply the expertise in data to identify, size, and prioritize opportunities pertaining to improve insurance product performance with a focus on pricing and underwriting. Define the appropriate metric framework, utilize expertise in quantitative analysis, and produce actional data insight to improve decision-making processes. Own the data product, leading cross-functionally across product, engineering, operations, and finance teams to design the right microservice APIs, data models, logging, and data-pipeline foundations. Design experiments and conduct causal analyses to provide actionable insights to influence product or strategy decisions. Evaluate the historical business performance and trend, build statistical models to deliver forward-looking forecasts. Develop dashboards to track company level and team metric progress against objectives, understand metric drivers, and help business stakeholders make data-driven decisions. Telecommuting and remote employment permitted. Salary: $170,186 to $195,713.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a data analyst/scientist-related position.

Special Skill Requirements: at least one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills: 1. Statistics; 2. Experiment design and analysis; 3. SQL; 4. R/Python; 5. Data Manipulation; 6. Data Visualization; 7. Machine Learning; 8. Causal Analysis; and, 9. Building data pipeline. Telecommuting and remote employment permitted.
