Ensure the stability of database environments via the implementation of security, backup recovery, and alert functionality. Work with engineers to determine end solutions for each project by comparing hardware/infrastructure alternatives in conjunction with cost, use, growth, and supportability. Deliver Oracle and Postgres database work items. Collaborate with application architects, scrum masters, product managers, business analysts and technical management team to design, develop and document database schemas, tables, functions, triggers, procedures, and relationships. Support application team requests including database loads, ID creation, software installation, and troubleshooting. Create and enhance internal processes for database creation and support. Perform space management and performance monitoring. Test new features and upgrades and ensure optimized delivery of code. Use SQL to ensure all DML/DDL (Data Definition Language/Data Control Language) being introduced into production environments meet performance expectations. Configure and implement reporting and alerting tools for critical product applications and system level events. Migrate Oracle databases from Oracle 12c to 19c and use Oracle 12c & 19c and Postgres 12 & 13 to support existing and new application releases. Partial work from home benefit available.
Position requires a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, or related and two (2) years of experience in database administration, or a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, or related and five (5) years of experience in database administration. Experience must include Oracle 12c/19c, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Postgres, Splunk, UDeploy, TOAD, Linux, and SQL.
